An Eco-Retreat

Rev Rachel Mash led our clergy retreat this year in early October. It took the form of an "Eco-Retreat" - at the wonderful Ave Maria Retreat Centre near Mooketsi. Rahel is the Envoronmental Coordinator for the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. We started each day with an open air Eucharist.

Eucharist on Retreat

Ave Maria 1 Ave Maria 2   Ave Maria 3
Ave Maria 4  Ave Maria 5  Ave Maria 6

Each day included Bible Study, input from Rachel on what we can learn from the environment for our lives and ministries, time to meditate on these things, and DVDs about the environment and climate change. Rachel also led walks following some beautiful paths at Ave Maria - for example the Stations of the Cross, and the Stations of the Resurrection. Each day also had a different theme:

  1. Water
  2. Trees
  3. The Land

Here is the group that enjoyed being on retreat with God, creation and one another (Pat Lennox was also there... he took the photograph).
